COVID-19 Impacts on Business

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected all types of business – TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® included – but it hasn’t stopped us from staying true to our values and mission.

With the government declaring the moving industry an “essential business”, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchises have remained open, offering our customers moving and packing services in some capacity.  Our franchisees have adapted and adjusted their operations to keep their teams and customers safe.

We’re proud of our franchisees that have kept safety at the forefront and continue to keep the health of all team members and customers a priority. From the regular sanitation of trucks and moving equipment, to practicing social distancing with team members and customers– we’re doing our part to stop the spread of coronavirus and keep everyone safe.

A big focus has been to remain in regular communication with our franchisees to ensure they’re up-to-date on the best practices for operation, along with relaying any news from state and federal governments that could impact their business, including how to apply and gain access to a PPP Loan.

Using a mix of daily emails and videos from our leadership team, we’ve included resources for new sales techniques and additional services we could promote such as junk removal, storage, apartment moving, and college moving

We’ve also shared good news from around our system and the work our franchises are doing to support their communities during a time of need. We’ve also implemented new hiring campaigns and ideas so that once restrictions begin lifting, our franchises and their teams are properly staffed and trained for an influx in move requests.

Throughout all the challenges we faced in 2020, we’re thrilled to report no franchises had to close their operations as a result of the coronavirus pandemic; in fact, we have even opened a number of new franchise locations and completed new franchise signings for future locations throughout the country. Franchises also saw record revenue numbers in 2020, and we’ve continued to expand our services with junk removal, which grew significantly throughout the past year.

As the world navigates through the COVID-19 pandemic, we will continue to do our best in providing our franchisees the support and guidance to overcome business hurdles during this time.

We’re confident we can work together through this hardship to come out stronger than ever as a brand while continuing to move people forward.

Messages to our leadership team

“I just want to say thank you for your updates and for everything TMT is doing in regard to Covid strategies. Thanks to your timely communications we were able to get accepted in the PPP program very quickly. It is great to work with a company that provides such excellent support. Stay safe and thank you!”Multi-unit franchisee, 7 years’ brand experience

“You all have really stepped up here by jumping into action providing great communication and guidance to all of us in a time we needed it the most.  When all this started to break I felt very alone.  Usually I like the autonomy of being a sole owner, but a few weeks ago the solitude was terrifying.  Then Home Office swooped in and showed me I wasn’t alone and had people looking out for me.  This was seen through a number of different ways but I really appreciated the calming, very matter of fact business approach to the daily video updates.”Multi-unit franchisee, 15+ years’ brand experience

“I talked to another franchisee yesterday and shared what I knew after talking to several bankers.  TMT franchisees knew more about the PPP loan program than the bankers did.  I want to thank everyone at the home office for their communication about this program.  When I finally found a bank and banker that would process my loan application, I had all the documents needed, so it was an easy task for the banker and me. Thank you!” – Multi-unit franchisee, 10 years’ brand experience
