TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® celebrates 57 months of consecutive growth, plans to add 30 locations in 2016

On the heels of 14.61 percent year over year revenue increase in 2015, newly appointed CEO Jeff Wesley catapults world’s premier moving services company into 2016.

For 57 consecutive months, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® has enjoyed record growth —with 2015 being a landmark year for the brand. The world’s premier moving services company wrapped up the year with more than $400 million in annual revenue, record high customer service and a new CEO, with even bigger plans on the horizon for 2016.

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® disclosed a 14.61 percent year over year increase in revenue during 2015. With a total of 22 locations awarded last year, the franchise now boasts a total of 339 U.S. locations, 27 international locations, 265 franchises and 2,094 trucks — all supported by its strong system of nearly 8,000 employees.

“The enthusiasm, momentum and success we built in 2015 has continued into 2016, and has propelled positive, continued growth,” said TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® President Randy Shacka. “We have consistently surpassed our goals by focusing on solidifying and investing in our support and infrastructure and on constantly improving our customer service, which will continue to be our focus throughout 2016.”

Strong leadership has played a large part in the brand’s growth, as well. Last year, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® promoted Jeff Wesley to CEO after spending seven and a half years as the chief financial officer — a change that’s aligned with the company’s core value of Moving People Forward®. To pave the way for Wesley’s promotion, Brig Sorber, one of the original “two men” who started as the company’s first mover-turned-franchisee-turned corporate leader, is vacating the CEO position he held for the past six years, and will continue to be involved in the company as executive chairman.

“I truly believe the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® system is capable of achieving

even more amazing things as the largest franchised moving company, not only as a successful business, but as Movers who Care® wanting to provide the best moving experience to our customers and also getting involved in their communities and charities on a local level,” Wesley said. “I am looking forward to continuing the momentum the team has built in my new role as CEO, and I am excited to find many more wins for this great company with the team I am blessed to have.”

Another exciting 2015 initiative was Mary Ellen’s Moving People Forward Scholarship®, a program created to internally promote career advancement of managers into becoming franchisees. With one in three of the system’s current franchisees beginning their careers in frontline positions as movers, drivers, or customer service representatives, the executive team believes in grooming employees to become franchisees by giving them the right tools and mentorship. The scholarship’s inaugural winner was awarded a franchise in partnership with her current franchisee, and the first runner-up also signed for a location with his current franchisees.

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Chair Melanie Bergeron’s position as the 2015 International Franchise Association’s chairperson will come to an end in February. She will hand over the gavel on February 24 and continue to serve as IFA immediate past chair. Bergeron, current TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® chair and daughter of Founder Mary Ellen Sheets, gained expertise in the franchising industry by working her way up within the company as the first franchisee in 1989 before transitioning to a role at Home Office in the 1990s before becoming the company’s president, COO and eventually CEO.

On the development front, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® awarded 22 territories in 2015, securing market expansion in California and Oregon. With Wesley at the helm, the brand now turns its attention toward 2016 with its sights set on growing in top markets such as California, Oregon, Washington, New Jersey and the Northeast, and plans to sign 30 new locations by the end of the year. Wesley will also continue promoting expansion in the global market by introducing innovative technology system-wide, improving existing operational systems and employing passionate staff throughout the growing franchise network.

“We are thrilled by the unwavering strength of the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® brand, and in 2015, we just scratched the surface of what we are able to achieve,” Wesley said. “We look forward to continuously providing top-notch service to our customers, bringing new franchisees into the system and making new investments that contribute to our overall vision and growth strategy for 2016.”
