From record-breaking franchise openings to innovative service expansions, 2024 has been a year of growth, resilience and continued investment in customer and franchisee success.

Randy Shacka - president

“This was a productive year on many fronts,” said Randy Shacka(opens in a new window), president of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK. “The housing market has been challenging, but we have a lot to be proud of. We celebrated 10 million moves, invested in key areas of the business and broke records for franchise openings. It’s been a great year, and we’re excited about the future.”

When it comes to growth, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK had plenty to celebrate in 2024, with major milestones including:

  • New Openings: TWO MEN AND A TRUCK achieved a record-breaking 31 franchise openings. This expansion underscores the brand’s commitment to providing exceptional moving services in new markets.
  • Ownership Transfers: The brand also saw 27 successful ownership transfers in key markets. These transitions, paired with new ownership groups, position the system for significant growth in 2025.
  • New Franchise Groups: Eight new franchise groups joined the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK system, contributing fresh new energy and expertise to the brand’s ongoing success.
  • Second-Year Location Growth: Locations in their second year of operation experienced a remarkable 73% growth year-to-date, highlighting the brand’s robust training and support systems for new franchisees.

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK’s focus on service-innovation-enhanced technologies has also continued to pay dividends. Revenue from crated moving services surpassed the total 2023 figure, reaching $13.7 million in 2024. These advancements align with customer demand for streamlined, efficient moving solutions.

“We’ve made new investments in technology, such as chatbots, to make the moving process easier for our customers,” said Shacka. “On the franchise side, we’ve provided advanced business intelligence tools to help our owners make smarter decisions and grow their businesses.”

In a major milestone for its Canadian operations, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK, in partnership with ServiceMaster Brands(opens in a new window), assumed the master franchise rights for Canada from Heron Capital. This move brings 33 Canadian franchises under the direct support of the Michigan Support Center, enabling these locations to leverage a broader network of tools, resources and expertise. This transition sets the stage for significant growth opportunities in the Canadian market.

As always, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK also prioritized giving back this year. In partnership with the Lansing franchise and the organization To Work In Graceful Service (TWIGS)(opens in a new window), the brand marked its 10 millionth move milestone(opens in a new window) by giving away a free move(opens in a new window) to a deserving individual and donating $5,000 to End Violent Encounters (EVE)(opens in a new window).
